Bid-ding to make our city more successful

-

The Bath BID is a welcome new addition to our sponsors for the Bath Business Awards. Bath BID’S fundamental role is to enable businesses to be successful in the city and it is delighted to do so in this wonderful way to support the thriving commercial sector in our city. Bath Business Improvement District (Bath BID) is an independent, not-for-profit, business-led initiative working to create the environment for businesses in Bath to succeed. The Bath BID represents more than 650 levy payers. It is a mechanism for businesses in Bath to pool their resources and invest in agreed products and services. One of the Bath BID company’s priorities is to promote Bath to increase footfall and dwell-time. It works with a number of partners in many different facets of the city to achieve this. As such, it supports major events and other city wide activities, help keep the city fresh and facilitate a safe night-time environment. The metrics it collects that measure footfall enhance decision making on developing the city and its businesses further. Bath BID says: “In essence, we lead, we facilitate and we cooperate to help make things happen.” Partly inspired by the Bath Business Awards, it has set up the Bath BID Awards for its levy payers. This new initiative for 2018 highlights those organisations that are making a difference in the five areas of Bath BID’S focus – Welcome, Smart, Safe, Clean and Prosperous. The winners of these categories will be announced at the Bath BID AGM in October and the Bath BID Award Champion will be crowned at the Bath Business Awards in November. Allison Herbert, chief executive of Bath BID, pictured, said: “The BID is a collective of local businesses focussed on developing the local economy and enhancing the experience of the city for the many visitors, residents and workers. “We are delighted to take this opportunity to applaud the efforts of our individual business partners at the Bath Business Awards.”
