Congratulations to King Edward’s School pupils who are deservedly celebrating some wonderful A Level results. Rising to the challenge of the new linear exams, the class of 2018 impressed with a return of 60% A*/A grades, including a record high of 27.5% at A*, around three and a half times the national average. Almost 40% of pupils achieved only A* or A grades, with 1 in 7 gaining 3 or more A*s. Ranked as one of the top five performing schools in the South West by The Sunday Times School Guide, Parent Power Survey, King Edward’s offers an inspiring and supportive educational environment for young, adventurous minds, from 3 to 18 years. Yet KES is about more than exam success, providing excellent pastoral care and a wide range of wonderful co-curricular opportunities, both in and out of the classroom. As the ISI report notes: “All three sections of the school encourage the pupils to strive for excellence and to achieve to the best of their ability in a stimulating environment so that they acquire a love of learning which goes beyond the formal curriculum.” KES encourages a sense of exploration and discovery amongst its pupils, so pupils thrive and develop within this ambitious, supportive and caring environment.
