Semesa Rokoduguni has signed a new “long-term deal” with Bath Rugby. The prolific winger’s current contract was due to expire next summer, but he has committed to another stint with the Blue, Black and Whites, of undisclosed length. The serving soldier in the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards said: “Bath is where my rugby journey started, and I couldn’t think of playing anywhere else. “It doesn’t seem like six years since I made my first appearance. We have a hugely talented squad and coaching set-up, and I know there are great things to come from this group. “I am extremely grateful to the British Army for allowing me the opportunity to play for Bath Rugby and for continuing to support me.” Rokoduguni scored twice on his debut against Dragons in November 2012 and has rarely looked back. In the Premiership alone he has plundered 47 tries in 97 appearances. Last season, the 31-year-old scored seven in the first seven rounds before missing the rest of the season with a broken shoulder. Director of rugby Todd Blackadder said: “Roko is one of the most gifted players I’ve ever worked with. “He is one of a kind - he has the ability to create something out of nothing, so we’re understandably delighted that Roko’s committed his future to the club. “Our long-term plan is to develop a system around exceptional people and Roko is one of those. He has the attributes which will inevitably support the likes of Joe (Cokanasiga) with his development, which is a huge positive.” There are 19 other members of the senior squad whose contracts are currently due to end next summer, including Jonathan Joseph, Anthony Watson, Francois Louw, Dave Attwood, Charlie Ewels, Luke Charteris and Chris Cook.
