Help make Tommy a reality in Bath
The Rotary Club of Bath has proposed to B&NES Council that there should be at least one “Tommy” installed in Bath to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War and the council have agreed. In order that the cost of this exercise does not detract from other charitable donations we have produced a mydonate page specifically to raise the cost of Tommies. The Tommies are 6ft silhouettes of a First World War soldier being installed all around the country. All the proceeds from the sale of these goes to military charities such as Help for Heroes and Combat Stress. A video on youtube gives a fuller story https://youtu.be/g50vij3j94a or search on Youtube for TBNT_0. We are appealing to all for donations to help us meet our aim of getting one or more Tommies installed in Bath before Armistice Day celebrations begin. The mydonate page is at https:// mydonate.bt.com/events/ tommie/475826and that also provides a link to the short video. This letter is to not just to seek help with the funding. We need to make contact with any military organisations or charities within Bath who would like to be involved in this installation. The purposes of the Tommie are to heal, educate and celebrate. To this end we are looking for representatives from all age groups, children to senior citizens to attend the installation/unveiling which will take place at the end of this month. All donators will also be invited. Please send all contact information to trevordawson123@gmail.com Trevor Dawson Lansdown Park Bath
