Extended online art exhibition to boost charity

-

The success of a virtual gallery for Bath artists has seen its run extended – and that’s good news for the Children’s Hospice South West.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Online Bath Art Exhibition has provided a platform for local artists who would otherwise be taking part in live exhibitions.

There is a huge array of artistic talent in the Bath and Bristol area, and Art Gallery SW has been sharing this with the world during the past month.

The exbition was due to end on June 30 but has now been extended to August 31.

Recognising the financial struggle of local charities during this time, artists have pledged to donate 25 per cent from each painting sold to Children’s

Hospice South West. Additionally, regular auctions are taking place, which pledge 100 per cent of proceeds.

The hospice provides vital care to children with life-limiting conditions.

However, Covid-19 is putting unprecedented strain on the charity, with many of its shops remaining closed and fundraising options limited.

The exhibition showcases the work of more than 60 emerging and established local artists from the South West, with an eclectic mix of traditional landscapes, Bath cityscapes, cutting edge contemporary abstracts, still life, prints and breathtaking photography.

It has been boosted by a special video introduction from American actress, author and activist Jamie Lee Curtis
