Bath City’s play-off game is to be broadcast live as the National League outlined plans for a streaming service to broadcast all play-off matches from the Vanarama National League North and South.

The Romans, who finished fourth in the National League South, will face Dorking Wanderers in their elimination play-off at 4pm on Sunday.

If Bath City win, they will face Weymouth in a semi-final play-off at 5.30pm on Saturday, July 25.

Due to the current government sporting guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic, all play-off matches will be played behind closed doors.

In partnership with BT Sport and Sportradar, each of the ten play-off fixtures will be shown live on a brand new platform.

A National League spokesman said details of how supporters can gain access to the matches will be released shortly.

Michael Tattersall, National League Chief Executive, said: “Due to matches being played behind closed doors, confirming a broadcast solution for fans has been an important part of our play-offs preparation.

“This pioneering streaming service will create an opportunity for exposure of the competition on a global stage.

“We would like to thank existing partners BT Sport and Sportradar for their support during this process.

“The announcement adds to the already growing excitement that play-off action brings.

“To ensure a safe environment for National League play-off matches to be played in, we urge supporters to not congregate at the grounds.”

The final is due to take place on August 1, and will be staged at the home of the highest finalist.

Off the pitch, the club’s crowdfunder has now surpassed £50,000.

After the initial £35,000 target was smashed by the Roman Army, a stretch target of £50,000 was placed and the current total, as of Wednesday morning, stood at £51,805 from 836 supporters.

The campaign runs until July 25 and the amount raised has not only helped towards preparations for the play-offs, but has also secured 750 free tickets for carers, care home workers and health visitors to go with the initial 1,750 tickets for NHS workers.

For fans that have selected a Bladud Hero reward, you can send in your photo to be part of the crowd of flags for the Dorking match on Sunday, and there’s still time for others to donate and join in.
