Leisure centre brings in new rules following lockdown

-

Bath Sports and Leisure Centre and Keynsham Leisure Centre are to reopen for the first time after lockdown later this month.

In line with the latest government guidelines, their gyms, fitness classes and swimming pools will reopen on Saturday, July 25.

But provider Better warns that “your experience may look and feel a little different than usual.”

There will be reduced equipment, restricted changing room access, and all sessions must now be pre-booked.

For any gym, swim or fitness class session that users book, they will be given a one-hour time slot to ensure that everyone has a chance to visit the facilities.

This time slot includes entering the building, conducting their activity and leaving the building.

So what has changed?

■ Reduced equipment within gym areas to allow for social distancing

■ Relocation of some fitness classes to sports hall or outdoor areas where available

■ Limit put on the number of customers allowed within the facility at any one time

■ Introduction of pre-booked activity sessions for all customers ■ Enhanced cleaning regime and the provision of sanitising materials for members to use on equipment

■ Limited changing room access with members asked to change at home when possible

Before you arrive you’ll need to book a time slot via the Better UK app. If you arrive early, you’ll need to queue outside and if you arrive late, you won’t be allowed access to the leisure centre.

Users must change into their activity clothes and shower at home if possible and bring their own water bottle, towel and hand sanitiser if possible.
