Inspecs names new boss with focus on lenses
A Bath-based eyewear company has announced a major new appointment.
Inspecs, the global eyewear design house and manufacturer, has hired Nevil “Nev” Trotter as general manager of Norville, the
group’s manufacturer of optically advanced spectacle lenses.
Inspecs acquired Norville from the administrator on 14 July 2020, providing the group with a full lens offering domestically and globally.
Nev joins Inspecs from Specsavers, where he worked for 13 years and was a partner and director of group manufacturing and distribution technologies.
Nev was instrumental in delivering supply chain fulfilment for
Specsavers’ global move into ecommerce, as well as a successful market expansion.
Nev has spent the majority of his career in the manufacturing sector. He spearheaded major change and growth programmes for international enterprises including Rolls Royce, GKN, Princess Yachts and BAE Systems.
Robin Totterman, Inspecs chief
executive, said: “I am delighted that Nev has agreed to join Inspecs to run Norville. He brings a significant array of experience, expertise and knowledge of the optical industry and we look forward to leveraging this to build on Norville’s heritage and transform its future.
“I have no doubt that he will be a great asset to the group as we look to further build our online offering and continue to extend the group’s manufacturing capability.”
Nev said: “I am thrilled to be joining the Inspecs Group to help Robin and the team develop and grow the Norville offering.
“This is an exciting opportunity to work with one of the industry’s oldest manufacturing brands and I have no doubt being part of Inspecs will help me to accelerate and release Norville’s true potential.”
