Arts and crafts at Bath Humbug market

-

A popular art and design market has been given the go-ahead in the run-up to Christmas.

The Bath Humbug indoor art market will showcase affordable contemporary art and design-led crafts.

The event will take place daily from December 14 to 20, 11am to 5pm, at the 44AD artspace on Abbey Street, with items ranging from fine art painting, handprinted cards and printmaking to jewellery, textile art, cushions and accessories.

Located in the central Abbey Quarter, 44AD’S door leads straight into the heart of the Bath Christmas festivities, offering a wonderful selection of independent shops, outdoor stalls, building illuminations and performance.

For ceramic vessels, soft sculpture and painting, Francie Brown will be selling her Roman pottery influence products in the market.

Joining her is Shuya Cheng, who will be bringing along her intricate framed embroidery, abstract giclee prints and greeting cards, all inspired by patterns and textures found in the natural and man-made world.

Marie Curtis is the designer and creator of Bath-based Design Vaults jewellery. Working with silver, gold and resin, each element of her collection is made with attention to detail.

You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to original paintings, prints and cards.

Karen George and Polly Gough are both bringing along their work which although is printed in a similar format, the inspiration and art itself is very different.

Emma Philippa Maeve will be completing the line up with her luxurious textile art, cards, cushions and accessories. Her work represents the cultural and diverse changes in China inspired by her travels.
