Bridgerton star to appear in TV pantomime

The star of Netflix’s Bridgerton is set to appear in BBC’S new Christmas pantomime.

Cinderella: A Comic Relief Pantomime for Christmas will air on BBC Two on Christmas Eve and will star a whole host of famous faces including Bridgerton’s RegeJean Page.

Filming for Bridgerton has taken place in Bath and Rege-jean, who portrays Simon Basset in the highly-anticipate­d series, will play Prince Charming in the BBC pantomime.

BBC Two, says: “This is a unique surprise at the end of a year when we all need cheering up. Thank you so much to Richard Curtis and the team at Comic Relief for assembling such a stellar cast to deliver us a pantomime to remember.”

Alongside Rege-jean, the festive show will feature the likes of The Crown’s Olivia Colman and Helena Bonham Carter as well as This Country’s Charlie and Daisy May Cooper while there will be some surprise guests and cameos.

Richard Curtis, executive producer and founder of Comic Relief, says: “We’re hugely grateful to BBC Two and the amazing cast for allowing us to do our first ever pantomime.

“It’ll be very funny and merry - and also a great seasonal opportunit­y to raise crucial funds for the projects that will help the most vulnerable people, at home and abroad - especially now when Covid has made things harder than ever for many.”

The Comic Relief pantomime will be broadcast on BBC Two on Christmas Eve at 8.15pm and will also be available on BBC iplayer.
