People rapped with fines before Christmas

People convicted and fined at Bath Magistrate­s’ Court on December 11 and 14 include:

■■ Kara Booth, 31, of Southlands, Upper Weston, Bath, harassed two people by making several phone calls to them between June 15 and August 19. Booth pleaded guilty, received a community order with a curfew of 8.30pm, and a restrainin­g order not to contact them. She was also fined £180.

Marlon Simpson, 39, of Haycombe Drive, Southdown, Bath, was convicted of assault by beating, at the Kingsmead Leisure Complex on February 14. He denied the charge, but was found guilty and fined £221.

Sajmir Gjabri, 28, of Weavers

Court, Frome, admitted not giving informatio­n to police relating to the identifica­tion of a driver who was alleged to have committed an offence. He pleaded guilty and was fined £617.

Lyndon Lee Rogers, 28, of Mill Lane, Paignton, Devon, pleaded guilty to breaking the 50mph limit in a mechanical­ly propelled vehicle on the M5 southbound. He pleaded guilty and was fined a total of £434.

Thomas Stephen Fletcher, 55, of Welshmill Lane, Frome, drove on the A358 through Taunton Deane at twice the 30mph limit on May 13. He pleaded guilty and was disqualifi­ed from driving for six months and fined £510.

■■ Richard Laurence Lamming, 48, of Brookwell Close, Chippenham, failed to give informatio­n to police relating to the identifica­tion of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have committed an offence, on June 8 this year. He pleaded not guilty, but the verdict was proved in his absence and he was fined £514.

Khawar Mahmood, 43, of Haverstock Road, Bristol, failed to give informatio­n to police relating to the identifica­tion of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have committed an offence, on October 16 last year. He denied the charge, but was found guilty and fined a total of £1,226. He also got six points on his driving licence.
