Ten men Nathan thrashed

- Mark Payne-blackmore sport@bathchron.co.uk

The Saturday weather conditions had the council take precautions early and called all Lansdown games off, meaning there were only two games in the second tier to take place in the Bath & District Sunday League.

Despite looking close on paper, unfortunately Team Nathan didn’t show up properly against Dunkerton and, with the wrong attitude got, completely annihilated. Dunkerton were every bit as good as the result says, worth every goal and going to be tough to beat on this form.

Though the away team missed a few big names they made it harder on themselves and it was obvious in the first 17 minutes that it was going to be a tough day at the office. Baker scored for the home side in the 11th minute with a strong header, before Lewington headed his own on the 16th and only one minute later a disastrous six minuted spell for the visitors saw them 3-0 down as Baker completed a double from six yards out.

Nathan managed to keep it to just three at the break, but that was mainly down to the hosts not takduring ing chances. The away team must have been thinking they had a lifeline on the 59th minute when Spurrey forced an own goal for 3-1 and it looked game on.

However, it only took six minutes for Dunkerton to make sure otherwise. Former Nathan player Jones earned and dispatched a penalty for 4-1, the misery had only just began for the visiting team and as Dunkerton heaped pressure on.

Two in two minutes, both stinging efforts from range after poor defending saw Lewington complete a hat-trick before Mulholland score the seventh and, after a sinbin and a sending off for Nathan which will land them in admin trouble off the field too - Jones scored a second on 87th minute to round off the 8-1 win.

There was a mix up in the other game as Farrington Albion kindly leant their pitch to FC Gringos, as Odd Down became unavailable. It didn’t affect the home team who were two up by the break and at the end of the match it was a fantastic five.

An impressive hat-trick from Parfitt earned him the man of the match award and helped along with strikes from Bracher and Talbot.
