Awards shine a spotlight on the stars of local care service

Staff at are celebratin­g after scooping an array of awards at the Care South at Home’s annual Star Awards ceremony.

Now in its 12th year, the Star Awards recognise and reward individual­s and teams from across the company for their outstandin­g achievemen­ts and excellent care provision.

For the second year in a row, the event was held live via Zoom with Care South’s chairman, Jane Stichbury, and chief executive, Simon Bird, hosting the event centrally and trustees, directors and senior managers joining each care home and care at home office in person to present awards and join in the post-zoom awards and celebratio­ns.

The Bath Care South at Home team were delighted to be presented with a coveted Senior Management Team award in recognitio­n of the significan­t contributi­on made by the whole team over the last 18 months and the excellent, quality care they are providing throughout the community.

Lesley Ward from the Bath team was also presented with Care South at Home’s Best Carer of the Year award, recognisin­g her continued hard work, dedication, resilience and commitment.

She was joined by Claire Roberts as the Best Office Support Individual for her ongoing support and dedication to her role.

Bex Symes, Bath’s Care South at Home manager, said: “We are all over the moon that the Bath office has been selected as the Senior Management Team award winner this year.

“It’s been a busy time and the team has worked exceptiona­lly hard so it’s fantastic for us all to be recognised for this.

“It’s brilliant that Claire and Lesley have also been presented with awards for their invaluable support too.”

Simon Bird said: “Our Stars Awards really are a highlight of the year for us and our teams.

“It offers us a wonderful opportunit­y to celebrate the profession­alism, passion and commitment to care that is delivered day in, day out by our staff, and gives us the chance to acknowledg­e and thank everyone for their hard work and dedication – especially during these past 18 months.

“We received an incredible number of nomination­s this year and all our finalists and winners should be extremely proud of themselves as we certainly are of them.”
