Why are we still not safe on the streets?

-

I wonder if any readers out there puzzle over why attempts we make to improve our lives are not working and is there a bigger picture which might give us answers that make sense because no matter how much good we try and do each day as individuals or as a group things don’t change and, in many instances, just seem to be getting worse!?

Why, despite great strides in science and technology, medicine, governmental decisions, are we still not safe walking the street even in the daytime?

There are many good people in the world with good intentions but problems ever increasing.

Consider this – who really controls the world as a whole? The Bible gives us the answer – “We know that we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one” (1 John 5:19). This may help some readers reach a logical explanation for the world’s ongoing problems.

“On this account be glad, you heavens and you who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea because the Devil has come down to you, having great anger, knowing that he has a short period of time” (Revelation 12:12)

Satan (who some don’t even believe exists) is the ruler of the earth but he is doomed and all the damage he has caused will be undone (Hebrews 2:14).

His days are numbered which is why his anger is increasing because time is running out for him. He was ousted from heaven and because he and his demons are confined to the earth we are experiencing the worst times in history now.

How can we know whether such a spirit person really exists? Is Satan perhaps only the evil within people? From where did Satan come? If there is a Satan why did God not destroy him promptly after he rebelled? How powerful a figure is Satan in today’s world? How long will Satan be allowed to mislead mankind?

The Bible answers all those questions and more. Our future will be secure under a heavenly government (God’s Kingdom) with a perfect ruler (Jesus Christ) and subjects who will listen to directions.

Under this government the planet will be safe, we will not get sick, grow old and die, no more wars, violence, cruelty, poverty, hunger, homelessness or hopelessness and life will have meaning. God does not lie (Titus 1:2).

There are many reasons why we can be cheerful right now, even though we may be facing difficulties and can remain happy amid so much bad news.

May I encourage you to investigate and find out for yourselves from studying the Bible, applying it, and see for your self that it really does change lives and mindsets. Sue Pilgrim
