Supporters can pay what they like on Saturday

-

Supporters can choose their own admission fee for Bath City’s match against Concord Rangers this Saturday (KO 3pm).

It’s the return of the club’s annual Community Day where everyone can enjoy an afternoon at the football with the whole family or friends without worrying about the cost.

There will be free mini footballs for the kids, free face painting, an inflatable beat-the-goalie, furry friends from Bath City Farm, a pizza van in the ground and an outside bar at Twerton Park.

“This is one of our favouring games of the year when we invite everyone along to watch a match, regardless of whether they can normally afford it – or just to give Bath City a go risk-free,” said Bath City director Jon Bickley.

“With an outdoor bar and catering and covered terracing and seating in the fresh air, it’s one of the best ways people can get together for a fun afternoon right now.”

The club is grateful to the generous sponsors who have made this day possible: Novia Financial, Curo, Prior Park Schools, Billing Better and Edible Art.

With all matches played behind closed doors at Twerton Park last season, this is the club’s first Community Day since 14 September 2019, when 1,444 spectators witnessed an exciting 2-2 draw with Eastbourne Borough.

This Saturday will be the eighth version of the event, which started in 2014. Concord were also the visitors in 2015 for a 1-1 draw.

The average attendance for the previous seven Community Days is 1,126, but with Bath City now attracting similar numbers for standard league games, a larger crowd is expected.

Visitors can pay what they want on the gate or book online at minimal cost at www.bathcityfc.com/ tickets. Contact – carole.banwell@ bathcityfootballclub.co.uk or 07711 446639 for more information.
