League sees goals galore

There were another eight fixtures in the Bath & District League this weekend, with goals galore across the three divisions.

Kingsmead ran riot over Bath United to win 7-0. Saunders and Wych both got doubles while Keen, Norris and Conradi gave the freescoring Kings a super morning. The other top tier game saw Trinity welcome Batheaston in a ten goal thriller, finishing 6-4 to the away side. Lee Rudland’s two goals was increased with strikes from younger brother Ryan, Robinson, Curnock and Battnick to deny the home side anything from this one despite scoring four times.

Unbeaten Division Two leaders Dunkerton kept up their 100 per cent record and in some style. Four up at the break, that was doubled by the end of the match; Gary Jones (4), Flynn, Adams, Haig, and Lewis never gave the away side a hope in this one.

Griffin played host to Olympic Victoria and went 2-0 up by the break through a Duncan Frew brace. A goal in the second half from the Vics couldn’t counter a comeback as this one finished 2-1. Gringos and Odd Down Reserves finished all square even after 90 minutes in a very controversial match. It was Handford and Monaghan for Gringos but that was ruled out by an impressive double from Connor Farr.

In Division Three, a six-goal thriller in which Keynsham Rangers went 3-1 up with Joe Logan scoring twice and Renete making up the third, Two Weir Town fought back through Tanner, Young and then Mcdonald to make sure the away team shared the points.

Bear Flat travelled to Lansdown Reserves and though scoring four, the hosts won 5-4 through goals from Hutchinson (2), Rogers (2) and Lofthouse for their first league win since forming.

A spirited effort by Team Nathan Reserves saw a Jack Rowlands brace in a late fight, but Puckle Vale had too much for them as Densley, Bayliss and an own goal meant they continued their winning ways.
