Parking restrictions in city streets as TV crews return

-

Parking was suspended on some streets in Bath this week for the filming of Mcdonald and Dodds.

As the hit ITV detective drama is set here, locals often spot Jason Watkins and Tala Gouveia hanging around the city.

This time they were using a house on Cavendish Road as their backdrop for an episode in series three of the programme.

With a classic crime story at its heart, Mcdonald and Dodds combines intriguing plots and the journey of two mismatched detectives with warmth and humour.

To allow the film crews to park cars and equipment vans near the location, parking was temporarily suspended on part of Cavendish Road on Monday.

The restriction covered all the spaces from opposite Cavendish Lodge to the end of the bay opposite Cavendish Crescent.

At around 1pm on a very rainy Tuesday, the crew could be seen huddled under gazebos and eating their lunch in the park.

Due to the high wall around the property on the corner of Cavendish Road and Sion Hill, we could not spot Watkins or Gouveia eating a sarnie.

However, a member of the crew confirmed where the filming was taking place and we caught a glimpse of an elegant spiral staircase through the open front door.

The parking restrictions were due to last until yesterday – the crew member said they would be filming there until lunchtime.

Parking was also suspended on parts of Sion Hill to leave space for the “technical vehicles” with the measure in force all day and night and there were no blue badge concessions to the restriction.

No date has yet been given for when the third series of the cosy Sunday night drama will hit our screens.
