Riders carry total past £1M

-

Rugbytots, the world’s leading rugby play programme, have pushed their charitable efforts beyond the £1million mark following their Stadium Tour Cycle Ride, in association with Wooden Spoon.

Through relentless dedication and support, Rugbytots had donated over £900,000 to various children’s projects - including £750,000 for Wooden Spoon, the children’s charity of rugby, who Rugbytots have supported since 2015 - and the £107,000 and counting raised from the cycle tour has pushed that to over £1million.

At the heart of Rugbytots’ journey towards this remarkable achievement are the passionate efforts of the youngest members of their community. More than 5,000 children attending Rugbytots events around the country have been taking part in the initiative to raise funds through “Try-athlon” activities, a unique and fun approach to engage children in supporting their less fortunate peers.

Through these activities, the young Rugbytots not only learn the skills of the game but also the invaluable lesson of helping others in need.

The Rugbytots Stadium Tour Cycle Ride saw a group of 24 volunteers from the Rugbytots franchisees across the

UK embark on an epic 380km cycling journey, starting at Exeter Chief ’s Sandy Park stadium and ending at the home of Welsh Rugby, the iconic Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

Cyclists climbed the iconic Cheddar Gorge, while the route also took them past Bristol Bears’ Ashton Gate stadium and Bath Rugby’s iconic Recreation Ground.

The funds raised through the Stadium Tour Cycle Ride will be directed towards Wooden Spoon’s life-changing projects, benefiting vulnerable children and young people across the UK and Ireland.

In a particularly special touch, a selected project will offer Rugbytots franchisees the opportunity to be directly involved in its creation. This hands-on involvement ensures that those who have contributed their efforts can witness first-hand the positive impact their contributions have made.
