Correction

In The Great American U-turn (April), we wrote that the US entry into the First World War was “one of the most dramatic 360-degree turnabouts in modern diplomatic history”. As numerous readers have pointed out, it should have been a 180-degree turn, as turning 360 degrees would put something back where it began.
