Vikings may have produced wine

Experts studying grape pips from a Viking settlement near Copenhagen believe that they may indicate the production of wine by the Danes. Scientific analysis of the pips suggests that the grapes were grown on Zealand, Denmark’s largest island, countering the long-held belief that the Scandinavi­an climate was too harsh for viticultur­e.
