ART LOVERS

A church in Spain is being criticised for allowing an arts and crafts teacher to ‘ freshen up’ a 16th-century wooden sculpture of St George. The transformed sculpture ( pictured above left) shows a pink-cheeked St George with brightened armour. Experts are concerned that original layers of paint may have been lost during the cleaning process.
