HALL CHANGE, PLEASE
The Colston Hall in Bristol is to change its name to disassociate itself from a notorious element of the city’s past – the venue, which has hosted the great and good of the classical music world for 150 years, is named after Edward Colston, a 17thcentury philanthropist who made his fortune from slave-trading. A new name will be adopted when the hall’s refurbishment is completed in 2020.
