Immortal memories

My mother was one of the starstruck teenagers who went back again and again (well, four times) to see and hear Gwen Ffrangcon-davies in Boughton’s The Immortal Hour (June issue). She told me that at the time she and her friends were taking schoolleaving exams, and they would confront each other before an exam with Etain’s words when she is first challenged to remember her former existence in the Land of Eternal Youth: ‘I have forgotten all things:
