In a special partnership, the winner of this prestigious competition will perform at the Opening Night concert, with the second- and third-prize winners giving lunchtime recitals earlier in the week.

Britten’s War Requiem
A poignant and special tribute to the WWI centenary, as orchestra and choir members from Liverpool and Hanover are brought together by conductor Andrew Manze in Liverpool Cathedral.
October and December Films with Live Orchestra
Enjoy a wide range of films, with glorious scores performed live by the orchestra, including the iconic On The Waterfront
(13 October), a Halloween screening of Psycho (31 October) and family favourite Jurassic Park (29 & 30 December).
Throughout the season Artists in Residence
Piano Duo Anderson & Roe and harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani join the orchestra this season, as well as the first ever young artist in residence, cellist Sheku Kanneh-mason. Gary Carpenter will be composer in association, with new commissions and arrangements.
