A versatile and charismatic performer, Erin Wall maintained the career she cherished even after a cancer diagnosis in 2017. Born in Calgary, she studied piano at Vancouver Music Academy and then singing, down the coast at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington.

She made her debut in 2001 at Chicago’s Lyric Opera, which remained at the heart of her performing career; she performed with companies across North America, Europe and beyond, and featured on many recordings.

His timing couldn’t have been better, as Italy saw an early music boom in the 1980s and the talented bass performed regularly with the likes of Il Giardino Armonico and Hesperion XX (now XXI). A prolific recording artist, he founded the ensemble La Compagnia del Madrigale in 2009.

Devoting his life to composing and conducting, Méfano could count Milhaud, Messiaen, Boulez and Stockhausen among his teachers and sometime mentors. Born in Basra, Iraq, he studied at the Paris Conservatory and spent a formative period at Boulez’s Domaine musique, where his music was publically performed for the first time in 1963. Spending time in both the US and Germany, Méfano returned to France in the early 1970s and was committed to writing and teaching; he served as director of the conservatories at both Versailles and Champigny-sur-marne.
