WAXWING WINTER

Half a million people counted some 8 million birds in January’s Big Garden Birdwatch, according to the RSPB. Sightings of waxwings massively increased and they were spotted in 11 times as many gardens in 2017 as in the previous two years, including as far west as Wales.
