Nikon Coolpix P900
PRICE: £529 Nikon’s top-flight bridge camera takes on an 83x optical zoom and 16MP sensor in its DSLR-style body. It has a wide maximum aperture of f/2.86.5, allowing fast shutter speeds and has a special five-stop function to reduce camera shake. The LCD display can be rotated to help awkward shooting angles and it comes with a ‘birdwatching’ mode.
Panasonic Lumix FZ2000
PRICE: £899 Despite taking on a compact, DSLR-shaped design, the FZ2000 has a large 20.1MP (megapixel) MOS sensor, designed for better image quality and enhanced performance in low light. Its 20x optical zoom gives a focal length of 24-480mm (full-frame equivalent) so it’s adept at shooting wide landscapes and faraway subjects. It also records 4K movies.
Canon PowerShot SX60 HS
PRICE: £369 Boasting a huge 65x optical zoom, Canon’s SX60 HS takes you close to the action and has an ‘enhanced dynamic image stabiliser’, which tames camera shake on five different axis. Inside its DSLR-styled body you’ll find a 16.1MP sensor, which also records full-HD (high-definition) movies at 60fps (frames per second). It uses Wi-Fi to pair with a smart device.
