Moving to a McCarthy Stone development has helped the Learners enjoy a more balanced and fulfilling lifestyle
When Mrs Learner and her husband were looking to downsize, they never thought they would find somewhere as perfect as McCarthy Stone’s Llys Isan development in Cardiff. Now, the pair are happily settled in their two-bedroom apartment, and enjoying all their new life has to offer.
“We adored our family home in the Vale of Glamorgan, but it was time for a change,” she explains. “Llys Isan was the perfect choice for us, as it’s close to our son who lives in Cardiff, and near the train station, so our daughters can easily visit.”
Life well lived
“The tight-knit community is what makes living at a McCarthy Stone development so appealing,” enthuses Mrs Learner. “There is always someone around, so you could never be lonely. And, as you have your own apartment, you also have your own space to relax in. It’s the best of both worlds.”
With a range of onsite facilities and activities, McCarthy Stone residents are never short of things to do. Mrs Learner likes to attend the regular Keep Fit sessions held in the lounge, while Dr Learner is a fan of the regular film nights. Together, the pair enjoy dining at the onsite bistro, which serves a wide range of tempting dishes.
“Every Sunday, we tuck into the delicious roast dinner. You can’t beat it!” says Mrs Learner.
Looking forward
While Dr and Mrs Learner live in the city now, they are still very much surrounded by beautiful scenery. “From our balcony, we’ve got some gorgeous views,” she says. “There’s also a maintained communal garden, where homeowners like to grow flowers and herbs.”
The local area of Llanishen is breathtaking in itself, and its parks provide many opportunities for picturesque walks. And, when they want a change of scenery, the couple wander to the high street, which is just 10 minutes away. “We have the leisure centre, library and all the shops we need on our doorstep – though, perhaps the local tea rooms are a little too easy to reach,” she laughs.
