AFTER their worst European campaign in almost a decade, Les Kiss admitted that three months of watching his Ulster side struggle is taking its toll.

The latest loss came against Bordeaux-Begles in Kingspan Stadium on Saturday meaning the province finished rock bottom of Pool 5.

“I feel it for all the guys,” he said. “I am the type of coach that does and I am connected in an emotional way with the team.

“It is not a nice place to be. “I feel that weight for sure but it is what my job is.

“When you are in that space you have got to look yourself in the mirror and know what you’ve got to take ownership for and make sure you stay strong about where you are going and what you are doing together.

“It is important we recognise the responsibility we have to get ourselves out of this situation.” In an error-strewn performance, some Ulster mistakes were met with jeers from the crowd with Paddy Jackson saying the players must block out any negativity from the terraces.

“There were a few heckles from the home supporters, which is hard to take, but they obviously don’t like what they’re seeing so you just try and block it out.”
