Bedside vigil for man hurt in road crash

THE family of a man who is fighting for his life after a road crash were last night keeping a bedside vigil in a Co Fermanagh hospital.

The victim was left with serious injuries following the one-vehicle crash.

The incident happened on the Dernawilt Road, near Roslea, yesterday morning.

The man, who is aged in his 20s, was rushed to the South West Acute Hospital for treatment.

His condition was described by the hospital last night as critical, but stable.

The road was closed for some time and diversions were put in place while police investigat­ions were carried out.

A spokesman for the PSNI said: “The male driver of the car, who is aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries, which are described as serious.”

The family of the man, who is understood to be a foreign national, remained at his bedside last night.
