Bonfire blaze ‘could have led to serious injury’
A FIRE started by youths close to homes and businesses in north Belfast could have ended in tragedy, Sinn Fein has said.
Pallets which had been piled in the New Lodge for an internment bonfire went up in smoke at lunchtime yesterday.
Councillor JJ Magee said youths had attacked residents who wanted it moved away from homes.
“This incident could have led to serious damage to property or to serious injury,” he added.
