BBC’s Barra hopes to bear up to digital detox

-

BBC Northern Ireland’s weatherman will be heat-waving goodbye to social media, all in aid of Children in Need.

Barra Best, a self confessed social-media addict, will be going on a ‘digital detox’ to raise money for Children in Need for 24 hours on Wednesday.

Barra said: “To be perfectly honest, doing the digital detox challenge is not going to be easy for me as I love my phone — but if I can do it, anyone can!

“It’s just for one day and let’s help make a difference to the lives of children and young people.”

Fellow presenter Jo Scott joined the ‘Zip it’ challenge, remaining silent for four hours at the end of last week.

Jo said: “I love nothing more than a good old chat, so staying silent was always going to be pretty tough for me.”

The BBC Children in Need Appeal takes place this Friday.
