Bad spell for public services if road sign is any indicator

-

If you ever want to go to ‘Banbrdige’ — wherever that is — you should start at the Gilford Road roundabout in Lurgan. For that is where a new road sign directing motorists to this strangely spelt town has just been erected. Of course, it should read Banbridge, but even though it is in lettering big enough to be read by speeding motorists, no one noticed the spelling mistake until it was put in place.

And that is not the first error at that roundabout. For the sign was a replacement for an out-of-date one that conflicted with new road markings and led to a few near-accidents. Perhaps this is all just a sign of the times as far as crumbling public services here are concerned.
