New bookie’s boss shuffles pack at top of company

- BY JOHN MULLIGAN

NEW Paddy Power Betfair chief executive Peter Jackson has quickly put his stamp on the gambling group with two top management changes.

Mr Jackson, who took over from Breon Corcoran on Monday, has appointed Dan Taylor as the chief executive of Europe in a newly-created role.

He’ll now be responsible for the group’s brands across all channels outside Australia.

Mr Taylor was most recently the managing director of the company’s UK and Ireland operations, and prior to that was managing director of Paddy Power’s retail business.

Barni Evans has been named chief executive of Sportsbet, the group’s Australian operation.

Mr Evans succeeds Cormac Barry, who has led Sportsbet since it was acquired by Paddy Power in 2009. He has decided to step down to pursue a career outside the industry, according to the group.

Mr Evans is currently the chief commercial officer at Sportsbet. He joined that business in 2011 as its chief marketing officer. Before that, he was the director of marketing at Paddy Power.
