Bunting reveals council reported Fransen video
INDEPENDENT councillor Jolene Bunting has said the council has made a complaint to the Local Government Commissioner for Standards over the video of Jayda Fransen in City Hall.
Councillor Bunting facilitated a tour of City Hall for the Britain First deputy leader. However, Ms Fransen took the opportunity to film a statement from the Lord Mayor’s chair about her forthcoming trial for alleged hate speech, a charge she denies.
The council said that no request to film in the chamber was made and it would investigate the matter.
The video sparked controversy, with councillors saying it was an “abuse of privilege” and “derogatory to the democratic space”.
