Tributes to Alltech ‘visionary’
TRIBUTES have been paid to the “visionary” Irish-born Alltech founder Dr Pearse Lyons.
The Co Louth man, who founded the Kentucky-based animal nutrition group, Alltech, died on Thursday at the age of 73 following heart surgery.
The Republic’s Agriculture Minister Michael Creed led tributes to the Alltech founder, calling him a “leader and a visionary”. “Across many sectors Dr Lyons proved himself to be a pioneer for new technologies and advanced thinking.”
In 2015 Alltech bought Newry craft brewery the Station Works from the Haughey family, owners of Norbrook Laboratories.
