EastEnders’ Grantham ‘very ill’

EASTENDERS star Leslie Grantham — known to millions as ‘Dirty Den’ Watts on the BBC soap— is fighting for his life in hospital, according to reports. The 71-year-old, who played the Queen Vic landlord from 1985 to 1989 — is “very poorly”, his spokesman told The Sun. The actor has returned to the UK from Bulgaria, where he had been living for the past few years. He had left the UK after the end of his 31-year marriage to wife Jane. In 1967, Grantham was convicted of murder and sentenced to life for the murder of a German taxi driver.
