Undertaker Hugh has earned his own fitting, final farewell
In a profession which relies on discretion and behindthe-scenes activity, Hugh Dougal, unwittingly, was a high-profile figure. As a funeral director he was often photographed and filmed leading the corteges of victims of the Troubles in Belfast. Some of the scenes which he witnessed in recovering bodies from the scene of their deaths were horrifying, and he preferred to remember the lighter moments as memories of the deceased were recalled by their family and friends.
Whether the deceased was famous or anonymous, all received the same high level, personal and professional courtesies from Hugh and his staff. Now it is time for him to receive those same courtesies.
