Five mobile classrooms gutted in fire

A SUSPECTED arson attack has destroyed five mobile classrooms in Belfast, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.

The incident happened in Barrack Street on Monday evening.

The PSNI said the fire was reported at around 10pm.

“Police along with NIFRS attended the scene and after the fire was extinguish­ed, the damage caused to the mobiles was discovered,” it said.

“It is believed that access was gained at 9.15pm.

“This crime has caused thousands of pounds worth of damage and we are asking for the public’s assistance in bringing the perpetrato­rs to justice.”

Firefighte­rs wearing breathing apparatus extinguish­ed the blaze.
