Strained relations: The pair THE father of the Duchess of Sussex has dismissed claims he has not attempted to contact his daughter.

The Mail on Sunday reported that Thomas Markle has shown the newspaper text messages that he claims prove he has tried to contact his estranged daughter.

Mr Markle was countering media reports that he has not reached out to her.

A deeply personal letter sent by the duchess to her father was published in the Mail on Sunday.

Mr Markle told the newspaper that the letter was not an attempt to resolve their rift.

He said: “I thought it would be an olive branch. Instead, it was a dagger to the heart.”
