West Side Story has messageforusall

THANK you for your wonderful article about the star of West Side Story and Rebel Without A Cause, Natalie Wood (Weekend, July 11).

The interview with one of her daughters, Natasha Gregson Wagner, was honest, open and deeply moving.

As a child of the early 1950s, seeing West Side Story in the cinema was my introduction to romantic love. Seeing it again on stage many years later, despite knowing the ending, almost reduced me to tears.

I believe every young person in Northern Ireland should see West Side Story.

It delivers a powerful message about the tragic consequences of sectarianism.
