Lorraine’s going to be a granny!

Presenter’s daughter Rosie is expecting her first child

Congratulations are in order for Lorraine Kelly, who is about to become a grandmother for the first time! Lorraine’s daughter and podcast co-host Rosie Smith, 29, is expecting her first child with partner Steve White, and announced the news on Instagram with a picture of her growing baby bump.

“We could not be more excited – you’re already so loved little one,” she wrote. A second photo showed the ultrasound scan at the threemonth mark with the words, “The bean at 12 weeks, the size of a fig.”

The news was equally as exciting for 64-year-old Lorraine. Resharing the post by Rosie, who is Lorraine’s only child with husband Steve Smith, the ITV star wrote, “THE most exciting thing! Cannot wait to be a granny and so proud of Rosie and her Steve. It’s the best news EVER!”

In his own post celebrating Rosie’s news, her partner Steve joked that their sausage dog

Ruby “might have some competition later this year”, with a sweet snap of the dog in a scarf declaring her no longer an “only child”, but now a “big sister”.

The posts were inundated with messages of congratulations from friends and famous faces.

“The best news – huge congratulations to the whole family,” wrote Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid, as Kate Garraway called it “wonderful news”. Presenter Carol Vorderman took a trip down memory lane, penning, “Awwwww. Huge congratulations to all of you and especially your lovely Rosie. Gosh, I remember her arriving in nursery!” Kate Robbins, actress and mum to pregnant star Emily Atack, commented, “Woohoo!!! We are gonna be grannies.”

Lorraine and Rosie share an incredibly close bond, with the daytime host previously revealing, “We talk about everything under the sun.”
