ANOTHER MOTHER’S SON

This moving and beautifully shot World War II drama is based on the true story of Jersey woman Louisa Gold, played by Jenny Seagrove, during the German occupation of the Channel Islands. Having lost one of her sons on the bloody battlefields, Louisa risks her life to take in escaped Russian prisoner of war Feodor, protecting him as if he were family, and calling him ‘Bill’ [the name of her late son]. Also stars Ronan Keating, John Hannah and Sherlock’s Amanda Abbington. Out Friday. ★★★ ★★
