1 The Durrells SUNDAY, ITV, 8PM NEW SERIES Return to Corfu with a second series of the charming real-life drama about the British family who made the beautiful island their home in the 30s. Keeley Hawes stars as Louisa, the harassed mum-of-four who has trouble controlling her wayward brood – including animal-mad youngest Gerry, later to become a famous naturalist. Daniel Lapaine (who is Mr Fay Ripley in real life) joins the show as Hugh Jarvis – an Englishman who sets his sights on Louisa. Keeley Hawes says, ‘Corfu is another character, and it is made to look even more beautiful. And working with the animals is amazing, although you can train an animal as much as you want, but you can’t train it to tell you when it needs the bathroom. So there’s lots of dustpans and brushes, and it’s a rather smelly set!’
