Ruth threatens Eamonn with divorce!
Eamonn Holmes found himself threatened with divorce recently over an epic wedding gaffe
We’re used to seeing TV presenter Eamonn Holmes land himself in hot water with wife Ruth Langsford. But she failed to see the funny side when her hubby seemed to suggest on live TV that she was not the fairest bride of all… Ruth blew up on air over comments Eamonn, 57, had made earlier on Good Morning Britain while he was filling in for regular host Piers Morgan. Eamonn had said that GMB presenter Charlotte Hawkins was the most ‘ beautiful bride’ he had ever seen…
Jabbing her finger in Eamonn’s face as she confronted him, Ruth even suggested she might not be his wife for very much longer. Hell hath no fury… Ruth opened This Morning last week by telling her husband, ‘I’ve got a bone to pick with you before we start!
‘ You didn’t think I was watching [ GMB] or I’d hear you,’ she continued, as she wagged her finger crossly. Ruth then turned and addressed the camera.
She told viewers, ‘This morning, on Good Morning Britain, they were talking about Pippa Middleton’s wedding and beautiful brides – and what did you say? “Oh, do you know the most beautiful bride I’ve ever seen?”
‘I actually put my hairdryer down and I was [ blushing], and then you said, “Charlotte Hawkins,”’ fumed Ruth, 57.
Eamonn dug himself deeper into an already large hole by insisting that he was sticking to his guns, and that pretty blonde presenter Charlotte was the epitome of a blushing bride. ‘But she was!’ he said. ‘But she’s not my wife…’
Ruth then delivered her killer blow, telling Eamonn, ‘ Yes, but I might not be for much longer!’
Eamonn did his best to salvage the situation, saying ‘ You know why I couldn’t talk about you. I would just get emotional and choke up because you’re so beautiful.’
The couple are famous for their on-air spats, with Eamonn’s edgy banter often making guests, viewers and production staff gasp.
Mostly, Ruth seems to take it all in good humour. But has Eamonn overstepped the mark this time? Surely not!
