Ant and Dec: ‘We want to work with Danny!’
Ant and Dec talk Scarlett Moffatt, SMTV, and the celebs they’d love to have on Saturday Night Takeaway…
Fresh from receiving yet another BAFTA – Saturday Night
Takeaway’s 13th! – telly royalty Ant and Dec talked to best…
Congrats on the BAFTA for Best Entertainment Programme – another gong for the mantelpiece!
Dec: Thank you! We do seven shows a year of Saturday Night Takeaway, and it takes over our entire lives for the time we’re doing it, but we love it! ‘Undercovers’ and ‘ I’m A Celebrity… Get Out Of Me Ear’ [two of the show’s best-loved segments]… all that variety is just the best!
How will you top the last series’ finale [which came live from Disney World Florida]?
Ant: That’s a tough one! We had our first meeting two weeks ago and we all went, ‘Er, the moon – is that available?’
Who’d be your dream ‘Get Out Of Me Ear’ celebrity? Dec:
We’ve got a few in our sights for Undercover, but we can’t say who. But for Get Out Of Me Ear? Hmm…
Ant: Danny Dyer! And Adele would be fun… but she never signs up to anything, so good luck booking that…
Is the reunion episode of SMTV Live going ahead?
Ant: It looks like it’ll happen around August 2018. We’re looking forward to getting the team back together and having a bit of fun!
Dec: Cat Deeley’s said yes. We’re going to do it on a Saturday morning, I think. It’ll be from 9.25am for three hours! We’re in our 40s now, remember…
Will Scarlett Moffatt be back for the next series of Takeaway? Dec: Absolutely! Scarlett hit the ground running last series,
and brought a real wit and charm to the show that was sadly lacking. We loved her on I’m A Celebrity… last year, and said, ‘ We’ve got to get that girl on Takeaway.’
She’s admitted she’s looking for love. Will you be matchmaking?
Dec: I wouldn’t let any of our friends near her!
Ant: She doesn’t need our help – she’s gorgeous, she’s intelligent…
Dec: …and she’ll be hosting [Channel 4’s dating game show] Streetmate soon so, when she’s putting other people together, she’ll find herself a guy. She’s brilliant – she’ll have no problems finding someone.
