Eamonn fails lie detector test: ‘Where were you!’
Ruth Langsford was left reeling after hubby Eamonn FAILED a lie detector test!
They’re famed for their tonguein-cheek, on-air bickering, but last week, TV presenter Ruth Langsford wasn’t
amused when her husband, Eamonn Holmes, failed a lie detector test on Loose Women – confessing he doesn’t always tell his wife the truth!
Eamonn, 57, joined the panel as part of Loose Women’s one-off ‘ bring-yourloved-ones’ show, in which he and the rest of the Loose Men panel, including Joe Swash and James Jordan, took turns to answer questions about their relationships using a lie detector.
But there was a shock in store for Ruth, also 57, when it emerged that her hubby had failed one of the questions – and he was forced to admit he doesn’t always tell Ruth the truth about where he’s been.
‘ Where have you been and not told me?!’ she shot back.
Eamonn did his best to put her mind at rest, replying, ‘ You say, “Have you taken the dog for a walk?” and I say, “Yes” – that’s the only time I lied.’
Despite Eamonn’s explanation, his confession was obviously still weighing on Ruth’s mind. She later told the rest of the panel, ‘I’m going to dwell on that tonight… You know what I’m like.’
Fortunately for Eamonn, though, he successfully passed the other questions during the lie detector test, revealing he’s never checked Ruth’s phone behind her back and doesn’t get jealous of her male friends.
He later earned further much-needed brownie points when he dressed mum-of-one Ruth in an off-the-shoulder red dress after the men were asked to choose an outfit for their other halves.
Despite saying she couldn’t breathe in the figure-hugging number, Ruth soon proved Eamonn had started to make his way back into her good books, tweeting, ‘I did love the dress, though. Thanks @EamonnHolmes for not making it hot pants!’
We’re glad to hear they’ve kissed and made up – but they wouldn’t be Ruth and Eamonn without some cheeky banter!
