She’s so confident, but asked about the things that make her truly fearful, Alex reveals a vulnerable side. ‘Life is a terrifying proposition and you know it’s going to end at some point. Other than that, I don’t like flying or heights, I’m not mad about spiders and I’m very claustrophobic. I’ve got a bundle of neuroses that I confront every day. I’m just grateful for every day that passes without something awful happening,’ she says. And her motto in life? ‘Seize the day!’ adds Alex. ‘Once the moment is gone, it’s gone for ever so you’ve got to live that moment to its fullest. I can’t bear frowning and moaning.’
