Loose Women’s quick-fix diets!

Some of the Loose Women crew were in Ibiza last week for a gruelling regime of exercise, no booze, early nights and earlier mornings. For one lady, it was all too much…

Last week, Loose

Women’s Nadia Sawalha, Linda Robson and Andrea McLean jetted off on a girlie break to Ibiza. But, rather than hitting the bars and restaurants, they stayed at The Body Camp, a hardcore fitness retreat. A favourite with bodyconscious celebrities including Mel C, Emma Willis and Caroline Flack, it was, in many ways, a last-ditch attempt for the Loose ladies – who have all struggled with body issues - to try to banish those demons for good…

INSIDE THE BODY CAMP

The ladies hit the ground running. According to an insider, ‘They went on their first hike before they had even unpacked, and did circuit classes before breakfast.’ There’s no slacking, no lie-ins and no alcohol. The Body Camp prides itself on providing ‘ holistic lifestyle transformations’ – mindfulness meditation, reiki, cooking classes and advice on portion control.

Head coach Rick Parcell says, ‘ We create an environment where people can achieve their full potential. We like to push guests into their “stretch zone”, where they’re eating different foods, exercising different muscles and meeting different people.’

There’s also a strict ban on laptops and mobiles between 7am and 5pm. But rebellious Linda Robson posted an Instagram snap of the gang in swimwear, captioned, ‘After a really tough workout @thebodycampibiza we thought we deserved a dip in the pool.’

A one-week stay at the camp, which opened last year and is set in the grounds of celeb crimper John Frieda’s traditional property, starts at an eye-watering £1,450, but you get what you pay for.

After a gruelling day, Nadia, Linda and Andrea collapsed in the lap of luxury, enjoying a private swimming pool, yoga deck and meditation yurt… until their 6am early-morning wake-up call!

They’ve faced some big challenges, but was this the ladies’ toughest mission yet?

NADIA: ‘FIGHTING THE FLAB – IT’S A BIT OF A WAR’

Nadia Sawalha, 52, has been open about her weight-loss agony. The mum-of-two, who admits to a ‘saggy belly and cellulite’, was formerly considered ‘obese’, and said that attending Overeaters Anonymous at The Priory clinic was her lifeline.

‘It completely changed the way I thought about food – without it, I would have become fatter and fatter,’ she said. ‘About five years ago, I lost 4st. But when I went into my menopause, two years ago, I started putting weight on again. Hitting 50, it’s been so much harder. I’ve had to really up my exercise. I see it as a bit of a war that I’ll have to keep fighting for the rest of my life.’

LINDA: ‘I’M ALLERGIC TO EXERCISE’

Linda Robson, 59, was proud as punch when she dropped 20lb after cutting out sugar and ditching the booze.

Earlier this year, she revealed, ‘If I don’t lose

weight, then I might be prone to getting diabetes.’

In 2012, Linda’s beloved mum, Rita, passed away and, in the same year, the actress shed 3 ½ st. She said, ‘I’ve struggled with my weight over the years, and I didn’t want to be the fat one.’

But in Ibiza last week, the strenuous camp rules seemed to have got the better of the mum-of-three. After just three days, in an Instagram video from the island, Linda defiantly scribbled on a whiteboard that she was ‘allergic’ to ‘veg food’ and ‘exercise’ and was off to the airport to scoff a panini before heading home! who lives with boyfriend Nick Feeney, underwent hysterectomy surgery last September, which left her with a large visible scar.

Andrea admits she was upset after pictures emerged of her in a bikini and an online troll wrote, ‘Eurgh, look at that mark down her belly.’

She said, ‘It really upset me because they didn’t know what I’d been through. It was so tough, going from never fussing about my body to being so self-conscious.

‘The first time I got undressed in front of Nick was really nerve-wracking – I was panicking about my stomach.’

We can’t imagine it was entirely easy letting go of alcohol at the camp, either. Andrea confessed to best not long ago that she ‘carries a little bottle’ of booze around in her handbag!
