Is it all over for Louise and Jamie?
As rumours mount about their marriage, new reports suggest the Redknapps have split…
Married for 19 years, they’ve always appeared to be the picture of true love – one of the most solid unions in showbiz. Recent reports, however, claim that Louise and Jamie Redknapp, proud parents of sons Charley, 12, and Beau, eight, have split, with Louise, 42, moving out of the marital home in Surrey and jetting off with her sons to Majorca. The Strictly star is reported to have told close pals that it’s all over between her and former footballer Jamie, 44 – although he is said to be determined to win her back and save their marriage.
It’s been claimed that increasing time spent apart contributed to the breakdown of their relationship, but both are hoping some breathing space will help to heal their problems. Louise is reportedly living just 15 minutes away from her hubby.
News of the alleged split comes two months after the couple were first plagued by rumours that their marriage was at breaking point.
Louise and Jamie – who pulled out of press interviews for his Sky panel show, A League Of Their Own – were said to be feeling the strain since Louise spent seven months on BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing and its ensuing UK tour, after she was runner-up in last year’s competition.
Yet, addressing speculation at the time, the former Eternal singer quashed rumours and denied that they’d fallen victim to the infamous Strictly curse, linked to the breakdown of many a relationship.
The mum-of-two explained, ‘It was surreal. Me and Jamie had just been out for dinner, and were in bed together when we saw on Sky that our marriage was in trouble. But we’re great – don’t worry about us, everything’s fine.’
And, while neither Louise nor Jamie had commented on the resurfacing speculation when best went to press, we do know that they’re set to spend the next few months apart.
Louise is currently preparing for a UK tour of the musical Cabaret from September to December, in which she’ll make her stage debut alongside fellow Strictly star Will Young.
Whether or not Jamie will be in the front row to cheer her on, we wish them all the best – whatever their decision.
